A Free, Go-To Design Toolkit for the D-I-Y Merchant

Does this sound familiar?

You're a one-person team. You do everything for your online store. You handle manufacturing, logistics, fulfillment, your sales and marketing efforts, and, oh yeah, you do all the design because you don't have a graphic designer on your payroll. (Ahem, correction: You have one, and it's you).

You've dabbled in Adobe Photoshop, but you find it intimidating, and kind of expensive for what you need it for.

What do you do?

Probably look for free tools to start, but where do you find the right ones?

We have just the toolkit for you.

1. For graphic design, use Canva.

Canva offers both a free and a paid plan, which is quite affordable.

The free version offers plenty of customizable templates, or you can start from scratch with custom dimensions. Choose pre-sized templates for Instagram, Facebook, email banners, YouTube banners, posters, proposals, e-vites, and so much more.

You don't have to be a graphic designer to be a pro at Canva and create beautiful graphics for your campaigns and website.

2. No more guessing hex codes thanks to ColorZilla.

Ok, so maybe you misplaced your brand guide, or never even had one to begin with, and now you're trying to match the colours from your website to the graphic you're trying to create.

You're trying your best to find the perfect match, but without the exact hex code, it's like finding a needle in a digital haystack.

ColorZilla is a free browser extension that lets you easily get a colour reading from any point in your browser; save and paste it whenever you need it.

You were just struck with a stroke of creative meme genius, but how do you whip it up in a couple minutes?

Kapwing has become our go-to for meme-spiration and creation. You'll find templates that already include the top-trending memes at the time, or you can start from scratch and make your own. Create still memes, or video memes. Become a true meme master.

And yes, sometimes we chuckle to ourselves as we're making them.
