Each of these tactics alone could be a powerhouse for your online store. We've seen online stores succeed by simply mastering just one item.
With that in mind, if you can master two items, or three items, or ALL items, the whole is certainly greater than the sum of its parts. Each one becomes a staple pillar to your business, and they compound collectively to elevate your platform, reach, and success.
The key is not to tackle all at once willy nilly, where you become a master of none, and spread yourself thin.
You have to get really good at one thing before putting your focus on another.
When it comes to rapidly scaling your store, we place a high priority on these areas:
1. Email: This one's a no-brainer. Email should generate between 20% - 40% of your online revenue.
2. Paid ads: You need to pay to play. Facebook and Google are the fastest ways to turn prospects into customers, and platforms like Snapchat, Pinterest and TikTok are an effective place for merchants to advertise right now, which is challenging Facebook and Google's duopoly (this is a GREAT thing).
3. SMS: Check your phone right now. How many unread text messages do you have? Text messages are a highly effective way to reach your subscribers / customers. We predict 2021 will see a big increase in text-based marketing. Diversification is the name of the game in 2021, and especially with the new iOS 14 changes coming this spring.
